-  Is a static element which is used to carry a bulk of electrical power due to it is capability of caring large a mounts of are pery. it is a three bars represents the three phase feeding feeder and may be fixed in ceilings or walls in a flat form using insulators
Bus bar may be made of Copper or Aluminum.-

Service entrance and single load:-

Feeder busduct brings power from utility trans formers into a main distribution swit board ( service entrance) feeder bus duct are normally used for feeding loacls that are connected in one area . typical connections are switchboard- switchedboard tie runs or a switchboard feeding a remote motor control center or large load (single load).



Bus bar advantages:-


     - Less man hours for installation :
        Bus ducts are built to  fit customer specific layout needs . its delivered to the site
        ready for installation . bus ducts installation needs only about 40% of the labor  
        required to install cables and trays.
    - compact size:-
        due to it is sandwich design ,bus ducts have very compact cross sectional sizes and they occupy for less space  compared with multiple.         
     -  Reusable expandable:-
        As distribution May need changes , existing bus ducts runs can be eaoily related or extended by adding new section.          
  - Lower installation cost:-
       The saving in labor can generate a total installation cost reduction of as much as           40% compared with cables.

   - Copatitive at any rating:

When reviewing material cost alone, busduct may cost more than cables  and trays. However it is the resection in the number of man hours required for installation that provides a significantly lower installation cost . also the cable minimum curvature radius make the busduct path less by 5- 20% for runs with many elbows.
