Type of Low Voltage Circuit Breakers
All low voltage circuit breakers are air breakers. Arc is interrupted by lengthening it and splitting it into series arcs as shown There are two types.
i- Moulded case C.B.:
This type of circuit breakers consists of sealed, self contained unit inside tightly closed box. This type is not renewable (i.e. can not be repaired).
ii- Low voltage power C.B.:
This type consists of group of modular design units which can be replaced. Other new unit can be added.
